MAIN STAGE LINE-UP

JAY SEAN

The no.1 British-Asian music star of all-time returns to the London Mela in his first Mela appearance in Britain for 4 years! Asian Network proudly presents West London's own returning to the UK for a special homecoming performance in front of his local crowd, with exclusives from forthcoming album 'Freeze Time' and hits including Hit The Lights, Down, 2012 (It Ain't The End) and early classics Dance With You, Eyes On You and Stolen. Welcome home Jay Sean!

JAZZY B

The Canadian Crown Prince of Bhangra returns to London Mela for the first-time since 2002 as the 'Maharajah' – performing exclusive tracks for the first-time from brand new album The Maharajahs and an unbeatable live performance of hits including Dil Luteya, Rambo, Surma and Landona Patola.

MUMZY STRANGER

Crowned 'Best Urban Act' winner at the UK AMA 2011 Mumzy Stranger returns to the Main Stage with a new-look live band and collaborators including fellow East Londoner Junai Kaiden.

ASH KING

Southall born-and-bred Ash King has lived the Bollywood dream in the past 18 months by breaking through the barriers to perform on some of the biggest film soundtracks. He'll be performing a set with his live band including Suno Aisha (Aisha), Te Amo (Dum Maro Dum) and current hit I Love You (Bodyguard).

HUNTERZ

Hunterz has been one of the most consistent British-Asian performers on the global stage over the past decade with hits including Rehle and Tere Bin Nahin Laga. We welcome Hunterz on his debut London Mela performance.

SURINDER RATTAN feat JOGA, ROACH KILLA & METZ & TRIX

Manchester music maestro Surinder Rattan single-handedly changed Bhangra in 1999 through his Garage-fusion Tappe (The Lick) and here he presents a set including some of his protégés including Joga (performing Ranjha) Toronto's Roach Killa (Yaara Dildaara) and current House-Bhangra anthem Haas Haas featuring fellow Mancunians Metz & Trix.

GARRY SANDHU

Within 12 months Garry Sandhu has cemented his position as most promising Bhangra newcomer through hits including Sahan To Pyariya with DJ H, Main Nee Peenda and the Surinder Rattan-produced collaboration with Roach Killa Dil De De.

JoSH

London Mela and BBC Asian Network welcome Montreal's Josh for a rare UK appearance, with the Indian/Pakistani fusion act performing a greatest hits set and tracks from new album Beyond Kismat. Lead front-men Rup and Q have broken music boundaries between both nations, including acclaimed collaborations on sensational Pakistani music series Coke Studio.

Lehmber Hussainpuri

Hussainpuri first appeared onto the mainstream bhangra scene through Mukthar Sahota on a track titled 'Sohni Lagdi' who then moved onto a collaboration with Dr. Zeus on the album Unda The Influence. This album was a success with both traditional and modern bhangra fans with such hits as Ah Ni Kuriye, Mele Vich Jatt and Tin Cheeja.

In Feb 2011, his single "Sadi Gali (RDB)" reached number one on various Bollywood charts. The single was initially released on RDB (Rhythm Dhol Bass)'s album 'Three' in 2005, but then due to its huge success in the underground scene, it was re-released on the soundtrack of the movie 'Tanu Weds Manu' (2011)
